Profile
A 3D artist building polished character work from concept through final in-engine presentation.
I like being involved across more than one stage of the pipeline, especially when a project needs strong modeling, clean problem-solving, and a final result that still feels full of personality.
Background
How I work and what I’m building toward
My name is Jack Sockwell. I’m a 3D artist based in Saint Clair, Pennsylvania, originally from Pensacola, Florida. I’ve been working in Blender for over 10 years, starting out as a Five Nights at Freddy’s accuracy modeler—which, if you know, you know.
My work primarily focuses on stylized and horror-driven characters, with occasional environment work. I enjoy being involved across multiple parts of the pipeline, often handling concept refinement, modeling, and rigging rather than focusing on a single stage.
I primarily use Blender and Substance Painter, with a strong interest in sculpting and building driver-based rigs. I’m also passionate about working in Unreal Engine, especially when it comes to seeing how characters come together within a fully realized scene.
My work typically starts from concept art, though I also enjoy developing ideas from scratch. On Don’t Fret, the workflow involved close collaboration with concept artists—translating their designs into 3D, refining forms for better in-engine readability, and building production-ready assets. After retopology and optimization, I move into high-poly sculpting to bring out final detail and character.
More than anything, this site is a place to showcase the work I’ve poured myself into. I’m constantly pushing to improve—whether that’s refining anatomy, strengthening pipelines, or elevating the quality of each new project. The site itself is still evolving, but I believe in sharing progress openly and continuing to build on it over time.
